Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!
It’s Christmas Eve! The big holiday is finally upon us.
I still have food to prepare, lots of gifts to wrap and I’m hoping some packages show up on the front porch sometime today. How about you? Are you ready for the big day?
Our weekend was spent rather festively. We wrapped gifts, attended a wonderful holiday party in Napa, shopped, cooked, ate and played lots of holiday music.
Last night, Tori and her friend made an enormous batch of sugar cookies. They’ve yet to be decorated as the girls lost steam after all that baking. I think I may try my hand at dressing them up today.
For dinner, we decided to eat in the living room by the tree again. It’s so peaceful and cozy in there. I dragged out the fondue pot – have to use that thing at least once a year to rationalize keeping it – and Bill made up a batch of Gruyere and Emmantaler cheesiness.
Yesterday, it was raining almost non-stop but that wasn’t going to keep us from driving 45 minutes to Healdsburg to our favorite bakery to have croissants for breakfast. We decided to take Daisy and Coco along for the ride.
After we ate our buttery, flaky treats, Bill tried to start up the truck and head home. But Tori and I had other ideas. We couldn’t leave the darling town of Healdsburg without doing a little shopping!
We bought a pink Eiffel Tower ornament for our tree at Bella. I would’ve have purchased a beautiful white and pink tree ornament, too, if it hadn’t been $42! At that price, I decided to take a photo of it instead.
While it’s fun and exciting to buy things, the best parts about the holidays are spending time together, making new memories and appreciating one another.
Tonight, we are attending a fun neighborhood party, like we do every year. Bill and I celebrate Christmas Eve for another reason. It marks the beginning of our relationship, which began 14 years ago today at a mutual friend’s home over a holiday dinner. In the morning, we will open gifts, make a big breakfast then get together with Bill’s side of the family for dinner.

What are your plans for the next couple of days?
My family and I want to wish you all a joyous holiday!
Thank you, readers, fellow bloggers and friends,
for bringing such happiness to my life.
You truly do make my life rich!

    Sounds like a great weekend!

I’ve been busy baking and cooking today and I’m still not done. But everything else is ready to go for tomorrow.

Usually I make decorated sugar cookies but didn’t get to it this year. It is a lot of work so I get why the girls ran out of steam. I did make other stuff and it’s not like we need more goodies laying around!

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family!

OOOh I hope you had a great day with the family! I am just chilling out here at home, washing linens imported from the inlaw’s house, trying to work out how to upload and save photos to an external hard drive on the mac I seem to have half filled my hard drive with repetitive copies of photos!!! Husband and kids are rebuilding the back and front fences. I was woken at 3.30 the other day to our dogs going absolutely berserk and the back fence is in such dismal shape that the neighbour’s horses were in my garden, then the dogs chased them out the front gate onto the main road, so there I was in the wee small hours, catching horses and putting them back in their paddock. But I know that I would have been very upset if they had been killed or worse still people running into them killed and I had the chance to do something about it. So they are all at it, totally redoing both fences.Seems to be a boxing day tradition around here.
