It’s officially the holiday season! Over the weekend, I finally stored away my sandals, shorts, linen pieces, tank tops and summer skirts and dresses. With the weather forecast predicting rain and seasonal temperatures for awhile, I am confident those 80 degree days won’t return until spring.
Cool weather means coats, boots, scarves, gloves and sweaters. How I love sweaters! Doesn’t it seem like all styles of sweaters are trending right now? From oversized boyfriend sweaters to cowl necks to cropped sweaters and just about everything in between. Sweaters are the thing these days.
For the holidays – whether for a Christmas party or just feeling festive while running errands – I like to wear sweaters with a little sparkle. The key word is little. We all know how holiday sweaters can get a little out of hand sometimes!
Stella Caraksi came out with two holiday sweater styles this season, ideal for this time of year but subtle enough to wear any time a sweater suits the weather.
The Sublime Sweater is sleeveless and can be worn with arms bare or with a top or sweater layered underneath.
I went for an edgy look and wore faux leather leggings and black pumps with my Sublime Sweater. I chose the Nickel color, a charcoal gray shade. It is too cool for sleeveless right now, so I wore a cotton turtleneck from C & C California underneath. I accessorized with a Jewels of the Vineyard Black Regaliz Bracelet (on sale now, use code WOMENINBUSINESS for 30% off!).
The Sublime Sweater is a modern and chic take on a traditional poncho but shorter in length, hitting just below the waist rather than below the hips.
My favorite part is the textured knit across the shoulder area and chest in front and in back. The soft bouclé is accented with tiny little sequins, giving it just the right amount of sparkle.
I also like the way the hemline of the Sublime Sweater is a couple inches longer in the back. I love asymmetrical pieces these days. They add such interest!
The Sublime Sweater is made of Tencel, cotton, cashmere and wool. And it’s hand washable! It also comes in Pebble, a light gray color.
Using the same boucle knit dotted with tiny sequins, Stella also designed the Stella Carakasi Aspiration Sweater.
The Aspiration Sweater offers an A-line shape, dramatic high-low hem and dolman sleeves. It’s made with the same super-soft fabrics as the Sublime Sweater.
I wore the Aspirations Sweater with Gap Always Skinny jeans and Gap loafers at a friends’ luxury vacation rental here in Sonoma Valley that my husband and I sometimes enjoy for a few hours when it’s not occupied.
The cuffs are my favorite. Long, almost to the elbow, they add the right amount of delicate holiday sparkle to any outfit!
Remember that you get 10% your first regular-priced order with Stella Carakasi. If you’ve been wanting to try this beautifully unique and high-quality line of clothing, now is the time!
Since we are on the subject of sparkle, let’s toast to the start of the holiday season with some sparkling wine – from Sonoma Wine Country, of course! Cheers!
Do you have a holiday sweater you like to wear this time of year?
