Mac_Meckley

We are getting things started with gorgeous home decor from Mac Meckley. I was introduced to Mac Meckley by her aunt, a friend of mine in Sonoma. Mac is an artist who creates digitally painted textiles and turns them into limited edition fine art decorative pillows and throws.

From Mac’s bio:

“After graduating with a fine art degree in oil painting, Mac Meckley decided to translate her skill set into a more commercial realm. She learned to digitally paint and print her one-of-a-kind compositions onto yards of natural linens, cottons and silks to create exquisite textiles. With a lifelong passion for interior design and home furnishings, Mac is now designing three unique collections of pillows and throws, Blooming, Fetching and Dashing. Juxtaposing her painted textiles with unique woven patterns, Mac’s pillowcases add dynamic artistry to any space. Mac lives in Seattle with her husband, J and their yorkie, Frodo.”

Mac sent me a Yorkie Sir pillow case with a synthetic down insert. I have two Yorkies that are my constant companions and knew the moment I saw Sir Yorkie II, that was the pillow for me. I am currently keeping it on my couch in the living room, right next to the Christmas tree. After the holidays, it will making its permanent home on our bed. I just adore it!

Mac is offering readers 20% off items on her website through January 1, 2015 using code WOMENINBUSINESS. Be sure to check out her incredibly gorgeous throws too.

Tamera Beardsley

Most of you who read my blog regularly also read the fabulous blog by the fabulous person, Tamera Beardsley. She is glamour personified. From sparkly baubles and floral head pieces to bold sunglasses and colorful, eye-catching ensembles, Tamera has made getting dressed an art form.

She has created a unique and sought-after style that many of us would love to incorporate into our own wardrobes. Lucky for us, we can have a little because Tamera creates a line of jewelry, reflecting her personal taste.

Tamera says this about her love of design:

“Great clothes and design always bring excitement to my life. In one form or another, I have pursued design my entire life. Whether it be gardening, designing my Southern California home, or going on new adventures in our Airstream, there is always a vein of creativity running through my passions.”

Tamera has an extensive career in jewelry design and her designs have been featured in Elle Magazine, WWD, as well as television shows and movies.

I am thrilled to own several of Tamera’s pieces from statement earrings to her lovely and versatile Tranquility and Sea Glass bracelets. Now is your chance to own – or give – Tamera Beardsley Design pieces at a Women in Business discount.

Casey Garcia of Mason Street Designs and I met many years ago at the fire department where our husbands worked. Bill and Pete were assigned to the same station and Casey and I would sometimes share family dinners on the holidays when the guys were on shift.

A few years later, Casey and Pete moved their family back to Orange County where Pete continued his career in the fire service and Casey opened her own company selling gorgeous cashmere wraps and beautiful jewelry.

Casey sent me her Luxe Pullover Wrap the light gray recently and I have already worn it at least six times. You can see one way I styled it in my previous post.

Casey’s wraps are lightweight yet warm and incredibly soft. Casey made sure to add a little bit of wool to the cashmere to make it stand up against pilling and to keep the price affordable. It sure feels like all cashmere to me!

The Luxe Pullover Wrap is very versatile and can be worn multiple ways, including as a scarf (see variations in the photo below). It comes in several neutral colors and stripes!

Casey is offering readers a special price for the Women in Business series. Luxe Pullover Wraps, normally priced at a reasonable $129, are now $90 with the code WOMENINBUSINESS.  Plus she is covering the tax!

It’s cashmere luxury on a budget! Get yours now before they sell out.  Offer ends December 31, 2015.

Last month, I attended the inaugural G3 Women’s Conference in Sonoma created and put on by Michelle, Anne Marie and Piper and it changed my life. It really did. In fact, the inspiration for this Women in Business series came from my experience at the 3-day event.

You can read more about my experience in a post I wrote shortly after it concluded. I met so many dynamic, interesting, warm and supportive women during the conference. That in itself has been invaluable to me.

Here is an except from the G3 website that best sums up what G3 is about:

“The G3 Conference offers women the inspiration, tools, and connections to take the next step in business, personal development, health and wellness, or philanthropic endeavors. Featuring widely respected thought leaders, talented entertainers, and a marketplace of ideas, exhibits, networking and panel discussions, the conference is designed to benefit women from all walks of life who are ready to reinvent themselves and create their best self.”

The next conference is not far off. It takes place March 11th – 13th. Piper, Anne Marie and Michelle are offering readers a Women in Business discount on their VIP ticket to the next conference.  Use code WOMENINBUSINESS to get a VIP ticket for $699 (regularly priced at $999).

Find out more on the G3 website including discounted hotel accommodations at the beautiful MacArthur Place Hotel, where the event is held.

Hope to see you there in March!
