One Trend, Two Generations: Spring Stripes

One Trend, Two Generations: Spring Stripes

My stepdaughter, Tori, and I are back again with a One Trend, Two Generations post! This time we’re wearing stripes for spring from Foxcroft.

Foxcroft asked me and Tori to each pick out a sweater from their Spring 2015 collection. It wasn’t easy – they are all beautiful. Ultimately, we both ended up choosing stripes and styled them the way we wanted.

Tori chose this Horizontal Stripe Woven Front Sweater in bright red with navy blue.

She styled her top with a long gold chain necklace, navy ankle pants and metallic perforated leather oxfords she bought when we went to Paris a couple of years ago.

The back of the sweater is knit with buttons up the back – such beautiful and feminine detail! This sweater is rather sheer and could easily be worn with a camisole or thin long-sleeved tee underneath.

Tori loves the cuff detail and the lightweight material, ideal for the warmer temperatures heading our way this spring. She plans on wearing this striped sweater with shorts this summer and sandals.

I chose the Asymmetric Striped Sweater. I have a hard time saying no to an asymmetric cut – I have really taken to them over the last few years. I particularly like the way the stripes follow the angle of this sweater along the bottom.  It adds just a little extra drama to the design.

I wore my sweater with my favorite white jeans and navy blue suede wedges (similar).

I carried my Kate Spade bag and kept my jewelry to a minimum – just my everyday diamond studs. I wanted the sweater’s details – particularly the stripes – to stand out.

I also love that this sweater is so lightweight. I can wear it on warm days when I don’t feel like baring my arms but want to stay cool. On chillier days, I can add a camisole in a navy or nude for extra warmth.
