White Sandals For Spring!

White Sandals For Spring!

Spring has arrived here in California and that means sandal season has begun! While I love fall and winter shoe styles, summer footwear is what I wear the majority of the year.

I decided to look for some white sandals for spring and while browsing this season’s shoe selection, I came across these white Steve Madden Orka sandals. I had a pair of white Birkenstocks on my radar but when I saw the Orka’s (and their price) I decided to order a pair.

I have to admit that when they showed up, I wondered if I would wear them much. Optic white shoes? What would they look good with? How would I style them?

I tried them on and they were incredibly comfortable. These sandals are very lightweight with a nice thick ankle strap – they get an A+ for comfort!

I was motivated to keep them but first I needed to know for sure that I would wear them. I went about looking for several spring outfits to create with these shoes. Here’s what I came up with!

#1 – For my first look I went for classic black and white.

I wore my white J. Crew Cone Denim jeans  (on sale right now) and rolled them up just a little.

I added a black tunic by Stella Carakasi. It’s called the Case Study Top and it’s one of my favorites! I also have it in white.

I chose silver and black accessories. I love to wear this cuff from Metal Pointus in Paris. My bag choice was easy –  I carried my black Adora bag.

#2 – For my second outfit, I went for a laid back and comfortable look and I decided to not wear any black this time. Instead I chose to wear white with a bluish gray and added a gorgeous orange Adora bag for a splash of color (I’ve been informed that the orange Adora is limited edition and is in very low quantities!).

I chose another Stella Carakasi tunic. This one is the Major Development Tunic and is a bit longer than Case Study. I prefer wearing long tops when wearing leggings.

I accessorized with a necklace designer Sally Drennon, designed just for Stella Carakasi. And some gray sunglasses I bought at La Brocante in Sonoma.

Let’s talk about these Ready to Wear leggings for a moment. I am not really a leggings person, although in the 1980s you couldn’t keep me out of them.

When I felt the softness of these leggings and noticed the high quality material and construction, I decided to give leggings another go. They fit so well and I love the ruching at the ankle – both inside and out. I think they look great with my white sandals!

#3 – For look number three, I created a monochromatic outfit in black and finished it off with white sandals.

I’m wearing my Stella Carakasi Command Attention Vest that I wore in April’s How I Wear My: Layers post, Capri Leggings and a Sure Thing Tee.

I’m carrying my black Adora bag and accessorized with another Metal Pointus cuff – several years old – and a crystal necklace. I wasn’t sure the white sandals would work with this all black outfit but for me, it’s a winner!

#4  – I went very casual for my fourth look. It’s hard to see here, but the sweater I am wearing is sparkly! It is a gift from a very dear Parisienne friend of mine. The color of the sweater is almost identical to my Kate Spade bag, a light beige color. The sparkles are neither gold toned nor silver but rather in between. And it’s not overly metallic – ideal for daytime or nighttime looks.

I wanted a sporty look so I layered my new sweater with a white tank and wore destroyed boyfriend jeans from Gap (similar).

#5 Remember my Stella Carakasi culottes from last summer? I just love these part pant/part skirt bottoms. It’s like they were made for my white sandals!

I wore a white tank top and a white mesh sweater from Stella Carakasi’s Spring 2014 Collection (no longer available but new Stella Carakasi spring knits are coming soon!).  I kept my accessories to a minimum and wore only a white leather cuff I bought in the gift shop of the Garden Spa at MacArthur Place Hotel in Sonoma.

This is an outfit I will wear often this spring and summer!

#6 – For my sixth look, I chose the same Capri Leggings that I wore in outfit #3 but this time in white.

I added a drape-front layered top from Stella Carakasi, a few seasons past (call their studio if you’re interested – they may still have a few of these left in stock and they’re on deep discount!) and carried my Kate Spade bag.

I like the way the white sandals look with the white capri leggings. Very summery!

For the first time, I wore a new shell pendant I bought in downtown Ferndale while shopping there with a friend a few weekends ago. I love how big it is…and lightweight!

Are you wearing white sandals this spring?

If so, how will you style them?

Make it a rich day!

Disclosure: The Stella Carakasi clothing and Adora bags were given to me in exchange for promotion. All opinions expressed here, as always, are my own.

Great post thanks Adrienne! I’ve been eyeing similar sandals at TopShop! I much closer to buying them now that I’ve seen how nicely they accessorize your outfits. Still a wee bit concerned about how long I can keep them white though.

I love the white sandals and all of the ways you’ve styled them. They look so fresh and crisp. Great with the all black in particular I think. Love the photo with the orange bag too.

These outfits all look so refreshing, energetic and summery! Your Stella pieces suit your relaxed Sonoma and travel lifestyle…and the Adora bags look like a great choice for a tote bag. I have watched your style evolve over the past few years and think you’ve honed your taste and found your niche. California Chic!
    Best wishes Adrienne,

Love your white sandals and the way you styled them, especially with the leggings.

I have been thinking of the white Birkenstocks as well, (in the thong style) just wondering if they will fit my narrow feet!

    Have a great week.

I was dubious about a white sandal, but you’ve convinced me! So pretty with each outfit – you look lovely!
