Adora by Adrienne, Fall 2015

Adora by Adrienne, Fall 2015

Last spring, Matteo and Matteo of Adora bags came to me and proposed their idea for making a limited edition Adora in a spring color of my choosing. These gorgeous leather bags would be called Adora by Adrienne and would be purchased by pre-order only.

I chose a luscious yellow shade, named the color “Italian Sunshine” and walked down the runway with the prototype during the Spring Luxe Event at Stella Carakasi last May.

I’m excited to announce we are doing it all again – including the fashion show and style event – but this time, for fall!

My choice for fall was an easy one. I chose a red wine color, not only because it’s my very favorite fall color but because it’s just so Wine Country!

A classic color that is always in style, burgundy shades are particularly hot this season. In fact, the Pantone Color of the Year for 2015 is an earthy burgundy called Marsala which is, I’m sure you know, also a type of wine.

I wanted a playful name for the fall edition of the Adora by Adrienne bag. Instead of calling it Zinfandel, Syrah or Burgundy, I chose “You Had Me At Merlot”, a saying that always cracks me up.

I received the prototype Friday morning and was absolutely elated to see it in person! The color is a deep, rich, berry color and it smells like a fine leather shop. I couldn’t be more pleased with it.

I reached out to my friend, photographer and artist, Sylvia Steininger, and asked her to take photos with the bag. Lucky for me she was available!

I styled the bag with a stunning Stella Carakasi Asymmetrical Poncho in Papyrus and Love The Look Leggings – both from their newest Fall 2015 collection. These pieces and many more will be featured in this Friday’s Stella Carakasi Fall Style Event.

This is not your ordinary poncho. One side has a sleeve in a fine knit. The other side is open and cascades down the side of your body. It’s made of Tencel, wool, cashmere and cotton. It feels great against your skin and the fabric drapes beautifully.

I wore a simple flesh-toned camisole underneath for coverage and no jewelry except my diamond studs. This dramatic statement sweater needs no accessorizing. It stands alone and is truly my favorite fall piece.

I love the winter white paired with You Had Me At Merlot. Off-white provides the ideal background for this juicy color.

If you’re new to Adora, let me tell you why I love these bags so much:

~ Genuine Italian craftsmanship and the finest leather available – the same leather that high-end luxury fashion brands use – which is soft and supple.

~ Chic and classic Italian design reflects in this high quality, timelessly stylish leather tote.

~ Adora bags are handcrafted by Piero Di Ienno, a 6th generation leather craftsman in the town of Vinci, Italy, just outside Florence. Piero has spent forty years working with leather in Tuscany.

~ Expertly sewn stitching, sturdy but elegant straps and a stylish tassel add just the right amount of elegance, style and interest.

~ Each bag also comes with a clutch that can be carried separately if you want or left attached to one of the shoulder straps for security.

~ The Adora bag is unlined, has no zippers or pockets and the edges are unfinished.

Carry the bag as a tote, shown above, or cinch the interior clips for more closure, pictured below.

While the prototype shows silver hardware and a silver stamped label, the Adora by Adrienne for fall will have gold hardware. Matteo, Matteo and I thought gold was a more luxurious and rich looking choice but silver looks great too!

I also styled the bag with a black Stella Carakasi Perfect 10 Tunic which is similar to the Asymmetrical Poncho – it’s the sweater version with two sleeves. I wore the Love The Look Leggings with this outfit as well. They are incredibly comfortable and well-made pants. And, might I add, flattering to one’s figure!

It only seemed natural, while doing the photo shoot in my front yard, that I have a glass of Merlot in hand!

If you would like to order your Adora by Adrienne bag in You Had Me at Merlot, send an email to me at Orders will be taken today through October 12th, 2015.  Once ordering closes, Piero will begin production in Tuscany. Turnaround time on production and delivery is approximately 6 weeks.

The price of the limited edition Adora by Adrienne bag for fall is $280 and includes free shipping to U.S. addresses only (international shipping may be arranged, email me for more information).

Beautiful color, the perfect shade of wine. It’s such an easy color to wear for a bag, looks great with black or brown shoes, etc. Love both outfits as well.

You’re in Wine Country too? I wonder if we’ve met or know some of the same people? I knew I had to go for a red wine color this time…to represent Wine Country!

  11. September 22, 2015 / 2:30 pm

I love this purse because it is both casual and elegant at the same time, which means I dont have to keep changing my purse with every outfit. The colour is divine. Wonderful choice Adrienne!

Hi Deborah! So true. I often carry my Adora when I go out. Even though it’s big enough for daytime work and errand running, it’s also elegant enough for evening. So lovely to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Adrienne, what a beautiful color…Great for fall and I love it with the black ensemble!

I think something is wrong with your comment section? When I try to comment it keeps taking me into the prior post. I tried to comment on your Thursday post just now and it took me here. (which also happened the day I tried to comment on the Adora post it took me to the one before that)

Hi Linda, thanks for letting me know. I think I fixed it – at least I know I can comment – but maybe that’s because I am logged in?
Who knows? It’s always something technical…makes me crazy! xo
