Gray Favorites and a Stella Carakasi Style Webcast

Gray Favorites and a Stella Carakasi Style Webcast

I’ve recently returned home from a trip to Seattle to celebrate my 48th birthday. It was packed full of delicious food, sightseeing and shopping. Outside of a few not-so-fun airline issues, the trip was fantastic. I will be telling you all about it soon!

In the meantime, I wanted to check in and say hello and remind you that How I Wear My: Gray is happening next week.

I have always loved gray. As far as fashion goes, it’s a color that is almost always in style and it’s about the most versatile color I know.

I love deep charcoal grays, silvery grays and slate grays. I love grays with warm tones as well as grays with cool blue hues. I adore them all!

I am excited to see how our stylish participants show us how they wear gray for November’s How I Wear My. Jill of Everything Just So and I are taking submissions until Monday night, November 2nd and the post will go live early in the morning, Wednesday the 4th. For more details, visit the How I Wear My page.

I’ve been doing a little fall shopping and found some stylish gray favorites that just might be coming to my closet soon!

This cape from ASOS is so gorgeous and chic and it’s reasonably priced at $72. I love the faux leather trim which makes this cape look finished and polished.

This Far And Away Coat from Stella Carakasi in a charcoal gray is 100% boiled wool and has an asymmetric zipper. I love how it can be worn a few different ways – open with a wide collar or zipped up with a cowl neck. I have this coat in a silver gray from Stella’s Fall ’14 Collection.

I love culottes and am sort of surprised I only own one pair. I am thinking about adding these tailored Vince Camuto culottes to my wardrobe. At under $100, they’re a great price and they look well-made. I have always had good luck with Vince Camuto pieces.

I wore the black version of the Masterpiece Tunic sweater at the Fall Style Event last month at Stella Studio and fell in love with it. I adore this sweater in gray too. Such an interesting and fun piece!

I bought an Eliza J sweater dress in a deep forest green while in Seattle. It’s on my new weekly sidebar feature, The Rich Life’s Find of the Week.

This gray version is so pretty and the color incredibly versatile. I would love to wear this with warm colors like cognac or burgundy accessories or make it monochromatic and go all gray!

I am all about low heels when it comes to shoes. I never buy a shoe with a heel over 2.5 inches. This ladylike suede pump with bow detail and a 2.5 inch heel looks comfortable and classic. I would love to edge them up with an oversized sweater and some ankle jeans with unfinished edges.

affairFor a pop of gray, I love this faux pearl necklace with a long gray tassel by Kay and Star. Gray looks beautiful against the luster of pearls.

Another gray accessory that caught my eye are these fabulous Italian sunnies – love the rose colored lenses.

Gray is featured in this multi-colored reversible blanket scarf. So great with jeans and booties for fall!

I think these glam boho style earrings need to join my jewelry collection. Can you tell I love tassels?

Are you a gray fan too?

Do you prefer a light heather gray or a charcoal gray – or both?

Please join us for November’s How I Wear My and show off how you wear gray!

Gray is one of my favorite colors or I should probably be even more specific and say it’s one of my favorite neutrals. A couple of years ago, I followed the “Build a Wardrobe From Scratch” instructions and gray and navy were the two neutrals I chose. I love that gray can span all seasons and is a bit softer than black. You’ve found some fabulous pieces! And to answer your question about whether I prefer heather gray, charcoal gray or both, I love all grays! I can’t wait to see what everyone wears in the next HIWM feature.
