Spring Blues

Spring Blues

I have the spring blues but my blues are of the wardrobe variety and in no way sad! I love the color blue, always have, and I have been particularly drawn blue shades lately, adding some new blue pieces to my closet.

While the weather in Northern California is rain, rain and more rain – thank goodness – we had a long stretch of warm, dry days recently and I was able to wear some of my spring blues. Today I am sharing three of my favorite casual blue looks for spring.

I was hesitant about ordering this dress from Gap. The wrap-tie front was my main concern. Would it add unwanted volume and attention to my mid-section? Would the tie cause the dress to ride up when I walked? I decided to give it try, guessing it would go right back to Gap.

Instead, I fell in love with it and decided to buy it in the dark blue color too! It does not ride up and the wrap tie, while it might draw attention to my mid-section, it is in no way form-fitting. The tie does a nice job of blousing the dress.

Blue Striped Dress Gap

I carried a cognac Mulberry Bayswater bag, wore my new Apple Watch Hermès (a Valentine’s Day gift from my husband) and blue cowboy-style booties from Sole Society.  I also wore my favorite hat, a taupe Australian Outback hat from Montecristi Panama Hats of Napa Valley.

Wrap Tie Dress Gap

It’s a good thing I added the hat, which is water-resistant!

Spring Blues

It started raining midway through our photo taking!

Another blue outfit features a striped poncho I bought on sale at Perle, a darling boutique in Sonoma, during a recent  getaway, which I will be telling you about soon.

I love the shades of blue in this long, lightweight poncho. It was rather warm that particular day so I wore a simple bamboo tank underneath rather than a long sleeved top, which I would do on a cool day.

I wore peep-toe booties (similar), Gap skinny jeans and I carried a navy blue Geneva Sophia Tote*, personalized with my initials.

I love this bag! It’s not only stylish but it easily holds all the stuff I like to bring with me: my camera, a journal, makeup bag, sunglasses, iPad and even a coloring book and markers if I know I’ll be waiting for an appointment.

Geneva Sophia Tote in Black

For a very casual and comfortable blue look, I wore a new-for-spring Gap blouse in dark blue. It’s so sweet with its embroidered details and bell sleeves. It will be an ideal lightweight top for spring and summer.

Spring Blues

I wore it with straight gray jeans and my blue booties. And I carried my Geneva Sophia tote.

Spring Blues

This is an outfit I wore to run errands Sunday with my husband. I love how comfortable I feel in this outfit. The jeans have the right amount of stretch to them without bagging out and the top is so soft against my skin.

Are you wearing lots of blue this season too?

I am linking up with #iwillwearwhatilike, Shoe and Tell and Visible Monday!

Make it a rich day!

Blue is a serene color. Very calming. You look relaxed and inviting in your shades of blue. The Gap dress is cute!

I love blue too and all of your outfits are great. That tie front Gap dress is adorable, and love the poncho as well. I think everyone looks good in blue.

Three beautiful proposals. The dress is cute.

All your outfits are perfect! I think the Gap should put you in their ads, because you look better in that dress than their website picture. You always seem to find the cutest clothes and then style them in the best ways! So fun! Now I want more blue in my closet! Peace! Cheryl

It’s me again. I ordered the dress in both colors! I couldn’t help myself! Ha ha. There is a really good sale going on right now, 35% off plus free shipping so it was a great deal! I can’t wait to get them and style them! Thanks for sharing such cute outfits! Peace! Cheryl

Ha! I am so glad! You are going to look fabulous in them. Can’t wait to see you wear them on your blog, if you do. I just received the dark blue one yesterday and love it too. Quite a different look in dark blue compared to the white.

I totally agree with you on blue. For some strange reason I bought so much blue for a year now, spring, summer, autumn and winter. And blue suits you very well. I love how you paired it with tan in the top outfit. (That husband of yours is a treasure… a Hermès Apple watch… wow). That Geneva tote is indeed a very good bag. I love shoppers too. For the same reasons, camra, stuff and easy access.

    Super cute post.
Just back from Milan and Paris Fashion weeks and you are spot on with blue – especially pale blue – looks lovely on you.
