Happy Easter to those of you celebrating! I’m spending the day with my husband’s side of the family enjoying a barbecue and some spring sunshine with people I love. I hope, however you’re spending the day, it’s a lovely one!
The weather here in Wine Country has been gorgeous lately and warm enough that I am starting to put away the wool coats and winter boots and bring out the lightweight clothes and sandals. Today I want to share some recent spring outfits with you featuring new pieces from the Stella Carakasi Spring 2016 Collection.
I have already worn this Making Waves Sweater in Pacific – a very deep navy blue – a few times since it arrived a couple of weeks ago.
It’s a great transitional piece as the afternoons are warm here but the mornings and evenings are still pretty chilly. The lightweight knit, made from 84% linen and 16% nylon, keeps me cool in warm temps and long sleeves keep me comfortably warm. But I make sure to bring a pashmina along for cool evenings when I wear this sweater.
The Making Waves Sweater is sheer. I wear a simple navy or black tank underneath.
The draping in the front and back give this asymmetrical sweater lots of interest and movement. It has tiny weights – one in front and one in back – to help keep the drape of the fabric in place.
I wore it in Sonoma recently when my husband and I had an errand to run there one early evening. We decided to stop by Saddle’s Restaurant at MacArthur Place and enjoy an order of their tasty stuffed mushrooms before heading home for dinner. Spring has sprung here in Sonoma Valley and it really shows on the grounds at MacArthur Place. Blossoms are breaking out everywhere and are so full of color and the scent is so fresh and lovely.
We stopped off at their giant chess game so I could pretended for a moment that I know how to play.
I carried a Mulberry Bayswater bag (similar). For jewelry, I kept things simple and wore a geode pendant necklace by Janet Harrer and my Apple Watch Hermès, a Valentine’s Day gift from my sweet husband.
I wore a pair of new sunglasses that I bought while in the city with Kim of Northern California Style (more about that in my next post). These sunnies are by Tory Burch and I just love them! Kim helped me choose this pair among many I tried. I love the rounded frames and gold hardware.
Friday, Bill and I celebrated Friday’s arrival by spending a little time at B.R. Cohn Winery. You may recall that I had a photoshoot with my friend and professional photographer, Daidri Smythe, when I took over the B.R. Cohn Instagram account for a few days back in February. It is one of my very favorite wineries in Sonoma Valley. Not just because it is breathtakingly beautiful but the wines are outstanding too!
I wore a Stella Carakasi Flow Motion Vest in Platinum that is so gorgeous! I can already tell it will be a key piece in my spring and summer wardrobe.
It’s lightweight, covers my arms and the beautiful silvery gray looks great with so many colors including browns, pastels, black, navy and white.
I added a Missoni scarf (similar) I bought four years ago in Bellagio while visiting Lake Como for some extra color and texture.
I love the soft color and fabric of this vest. It’s a great layering piece for my Wine Country wardrobe.
