Hello, friends. A lot has happened since my last post was published: good things, not-so-good things and one very, very sad thing.
My talented, brilliant, loving and creative niece, Nikita Kaitlyn, passed away earlier this week at the age of just 25. As you can imagine, our family is grieving at this time and trying our best to wrap our minds around her death. My husband’s family has experienced the loss of great women over the last five years, including my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, who is my niece’s mother. Our family takes some comfort in the belief that the three of them are together now.
I know things will get back to normal around here eventually. Life does go on. Until then, I want to let you know that Jill and I are postponing the publish date for November’s How I Wear My by one day. But we would like to keep the deadline date for submissions the same to give us more time to work on the posts.
Here are the updated HIWM details:
How I Wear My: Long Cardigan or Duster submissions are due by the end of the day on Monday, November 7th. To be featured, send us a photo of you showing how you style your long cardigan or duster. Be sure to include a quotable description of your look to firstname.lastname@example.org. The posts will go live the morning of November 10th on my blog and Jill’s.
Next month’s post will make five years that Jill and I have been putting on our How I Wear series, never once missing a month. It’s hard to believe five years has gone by already since our first post about a long Missoni cardigan.
I am not sure I will be blogging again before November’s How I Wear My. I know from past experience that sometimes writing about frivolous things can be therapeutic but I just don’t know right now.
Make everyday a rich day, friends.
