Double Breasted Wool Coat from Chadwicks of Boston

Double Breasted Wool Coat from Chadwicks of Boston

I am back today with another well-made and affordable coat from Chadwicks of Boston’s collection of wool pieces. You may recall I styled another wool piece by Chadwicks of Boston back in October.  I chose their Single-Breasted Long Wool Coat in black because most fall/winter wardrobes benefit from having a classic black wool coat, including mine.  This time I wanted to go for something a little different!

I have always loved pastels – especially light blue and pink – and have wanted a coat in a pastel shade for a few seasons now. Many that I looked at cost many hundreds of dollars, sometimes thousands! I was delighted to find a quality wool coat, from a brand I know and trust, in a color and style that fits my taste.

I chose this 3/4 Length Double Breasted Wool Coat in Powder Blue and wore it yesterday to the tree farm to pick up our holiday tree and bring it home.

I love the wide lapels on the coat and like to wear the collar up around my neck which keeps it warm my neck and gives the coat a more dramatic look.

I wanted the structure and the color of the coat to stand out so I went with a simple head-to-toe black look, only adding my decades-old rhinestone snowflake necklace for jewelry.

Aside from the color and lapel, I love the belt and buttons on the back of the coat as well. My coat is fully-lined and has nice deep slant pockets.

I prefer to wear my double-breasted coat unbuttoned but it can certainly be worn buttoned up as well. Here I added rain boots and leather gloves as we are expecting a bit of rain and cooler temps this weekend.

I appreciate that Chadwicks of Boston offers a variety of sizes including “talls” as I am over 6′ 2″. I also love their affordable prices and classic styles that can be worn season after season. Coat styles like the one I am wearing today and the Single-Breasted Long Wool Coat never go out of fashion.

    🙂 You’re looking great Adrienne!
I wish I could wear double breasted, but I’m too short and it just doesn’t suit me.
    Happy Thanksgiving 🙂

It’s beautiful… as are you. I too have been wanting a pastel coat for many seasons, but have been worried about spending money for a coat, when there’s been so little use for them in LA. After seeing yours, I’m going to get a pale blue or pale pink one for next year for sure. Even I’m tired of black….

Oh my gosh I’m so excited! I’ve been searching for a pastel blue winter coat for the last couple of years! Now I just hope they don’t sell out anytime soon…

I forgot to add I am 6’1″ so I’m so happy there are plenty of tall sizes (yay)! Now I’m curious about your shoe size. I am a 12 and always searching for brands that offer that size.

      Hi Stacy,

Yay! A fellow tall woman! I wear an 11 (sometimes I fit in 10s, but only in boots). Did you know that Sole Society carries 12s in some of their styles? I was thinking about doing a post in January about where I shop for tall clothes.

Oh I would love that! It’s always been a challenge finding clothes and especially shoes. You are so lucky to be an 11. I used to be one back when you could only find 10’s but after being pregnant twice they got bigger – ugh.

That is a beautiful coat, Adrienne. It’s so great with black… and jeans, of course. And will be beautiful with chocolate brown. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!

What a great idea, Sue! Why didn’t I think of that?
I have a brown sweater from Stella Carakasi that would look great with this coat. I will give that a try!
      Happy Holidays!
