As we near the end of 2016, Jill of Everything Just So and I are once again selecting our personal favorite How I Wear My looks of the year for a special edition we call, How I Wear My: 2016 Favorites.
Jill and I picked our favorite looks from each month. We agreed that we would not choose each other or ourselves, we would only pick participants from our own How I Wear My posts, and we would not share our selections with each other beforehand.
It is not an easy task to choose our favorites, that is for sure. There were so many gorgeous outfits to pick from this year, it was tempting to post more than one for each month!
How I Wear My: 2016 Favorites
Suzanne of Suzanne Carrillo and her husband dressed in vintage garb for an event and they couldn’t look more fabulous, and color-coordinated too, I might add. Suzanne wore ladylike gloves to complete her look and sent us this photo for our “Gloves” theme last January.
Trina of Tea Time With Trina incorporated both Pantone Colors of the Year 2016 – Rose Quartz and Serenity – for an elegant and feminine How I Wear My look last February.
Tamera of Tamera Beardsley showed us a stunning neutral outfit, perfect for Southern California winters, which included an optic white bag for “Tote Bag”, our March theme.
Cheryl of Northwest Mountain Living submitted this boho chic outfit that included flared jeans, big sunnies and a floppy hat for April’s “Boho” theme.
Catherine of Not Dressed as Lamb showed us three ways to wear “Pearls” which was May’s theme. She donned pearl bracelets, earrings and even added pearls to her up-do to create this feminine look.
Ana of Mrs. American Made wore a black sundress for our June theme. I love wearing black in the summer and think Ana’s dress is so lovely on her. I especially like the way she wore her hair up to show off her shoulders.
Tunics were and continue to be a popular trend. I, for one, hope the trend continues as I love their versatility and vast selection of cuts, patterns, textures and colors. Lisa of The Sequinist showed us that tunics can be found in off-the-shoulder styles and wore hers with tall boots and faux leather leggings. I love the ties on the sleeves!
Glenda of So What to Twenty styled a “Cropped Pants” outfit with a pair of jeans she fringed herself. Her submission was the most talked about look that month, not surprisingly. So fabulous!
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style added touches of yellow to her black and white look, which made a big impact. Yellow sunglasses and earrings, a skinny yellow belt and yellow pumps gave this outfit bursts of sunny color, making it my favorite look for September.
I love the way Nicole of High Latitude Style dressed up a pair of jeans and button-down shirt with a silk scarf, tied my favorite way, and colorful sandals.
I love this look on Susan of Susan After 60 who wears her long cardigan with a patterned scarf, jeans and wedges. This outfit resembles something I would and do wear!
Dawn Lucy of Fashion Should Be Fun was such a knock out in this all black sequined outfit. I bet she turned lots of heads in this look!
Happy holidays to all of you and a big, big thank you to all the participants who joined How I Wear My this year!
Be sure to pop over to Jill’s and see her favorites for 2016!
Why not put joining How I Wear My on your New Year’s resolutions list and submit a photo of you in your “Tall Boots” for January?
Send a photo of you in your tall boots – to the knee or over the knee – to firstname.lastname@example.org by the end of the day January 9th to participate. Be sure to include a blurb about your outfit, which will be quoted in the post.
