Throughout the month of January, I am sharing some of the ways I am making improvements to my home, my fitness and health and day-to-day living in 2017. In my last post, I told you about my Jar of Gratitude. This time I am sharing an effective way to organize and store jewelry with my new jewelry organizer.
For ages I’ve been trying to figure out a sensible and space-saving method for storing and organizing my jewelry. For the last few years I have used trays and little bowls inside drawers, as well as hooks on my bedroom wall to store my large collection of long necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings.
I have become such a fan of KayandStar jewelry, my jewelry wardrobe has grown quite a bit recently. I had resigned myself to using my existing methods – which weren’t great – until I came upon this jewelry organizer at a home improvement store.
For $10, I thought it was worth trying. I brought it home, purged the jewelry I didn’t want anymore, then added the jewelry I wanted to keep.
Now most of my jewelry – probably 75% to 80% – hangs on the rod in my closet. What I really love is I can see most of my jewelry at once instead of digging around in drawers.
The velcro strips for hanging necklaces are strong and manage to hold even my heaviest necklaces with ease. And no more tangled necklaces!
Pockets for smaller pieces like earrings, rings and bracelets are on the other side.
I still keep wide cuffs and big bracelets in a drawer since they won’t fit in the pockets. Now that’s all there is in the drawer, making it a breeze to find things.
Do you have a clever method for storing and organizing your jewelry?
