Stella Carakasi 2017 Spring Style Event

Stella Carakasi 2017 Spring Style Event

I am excited to share some highlights from the recent Stella Carakasi 2017 Spring Style Event at Stella Studio in Berkeley.

My stepdaughter Tori and I modeled in the show along with lots of beautiful friends and customers of Stella Carakasi, including Wendy Packer of Fashion Over Fifty and Savòna Charissè of Style Equation Magazine.

There was also a special guest! Novelist Alysia Helming, who wrote Protogenesis, debuted the “Protogena Jewelry Line” created by ANATOL, inspired by her novel which is set in Greece.

So let’s get right to it! Most of the clothing you see here are available on Stella Carakasi’s website now and some will be available later this month and early June, depending on the collection. I have linked all items currently available.

Thank you to my husband, Bill, and professional photographer David Delahoussaye for the photos!

We arrived early afternoon, unpacked and tried our outfits on, styling them with shoes and accessories. One by one we each had our makeup done by the talented Danielle Robinson. Danielle also did our makeup for the Fall Style Event last year.

We models relaxed backstage and enjoyed some refreshments while waiting our turn to be made up.

Soon it was time to practice walking the runway. I have participated in my fair share of Stella Carakasi fashion events and for the first time I wasn’t nervous. Not even a little! It helps that the event was on the heels of the Trashion Fashion Show where we had a coach and practiced our runway skills a lot! It’s so refreshing to not be nervous and enjoy being in the spotlight for a moment!

Shortly before showtime, we put on our first outfits and waited our turn to walk. I love the sleeve detail on the Highline Tunic. And Tori’s monochrome outfit is so chic!

The show kicked off with a welcome from Stella. It’s always a delight to listen to Stella talk about her newest collection and her philosophies, which include the belief that we are beautiful just the way we are. Bravo to Stella for continuing to drive this message home to women everywhere, not only with her words but with her designs.

Stella introduced Alysia Helming who talked about her novel and the exciting things she has in the works including more books in the Protogenesis series and her jewelry line.

Alysia made a very quick outfit change after her talk, then got the show off to a stylish start wearing a special “Protogenesis Outfit” designed by Stella.

I love all the pieces Stella designs using the wrinkly, water repellant fabric that actually contains metal. They make the ideal travel clothes because they’re lightweight and are meant to be a little wrinkled. You can literally ball them up in your suitcase and they still look fabulous when you arrive at your destination. View the entire Metal Lux collection here.

After the runway show, guests were invited to Stella Studio to enjoy some delicious nibbles from Whole Foods Market Gilman.

Whole Foods generously gifted beauty swag bags to the first 50 guests. Tori and I each received one and had such fun checking out all the beauty products and treats. We’ve already been using the 2 Chic shampoo and agree it’s fabulous. Thank you, Whole Foods Market Gilman!

After the show Alysia was available to sign copies of her book, Protogenesis, which is now on my spring reading list. Her novel sounds so intriguing!

Guests shopped, sipped and nibbled until it was time to call it a night. What a fantastic event, possibly the best one ever! I am so excited about the entire Stella Carakasi 2017 collection and am looking forward to the next two collections rolling out – one on April 21st and the second sometime in June.

Thank you to the team at Stella Carakasi for including me and Tori in your fabulous event!

I think this is the best collection yet – based on what I’ve seen. I love that kiwi color! Also really love the monochromatic and layered style of Tori’s teal outfit – so great.
