We had a quiet and productive Memorial Day weekend. I cooked, marketed, organized a few drawers and cabinets while Bill worked in the yard, planting our vegetable garden in the aluminum troughs he bought me for Mother’s Day.
I am so thrilled to have all our starters planted! We are growing cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, lettuce and some herbs. We may also plant some corn in the ground next to the planters, as well as some pumpkins for fall.
Tori gave me colorful blank wood stakes for my garden for Mother’s Day and wrote the names of all the veggies and herbs for me. They look so cute!
Though we mostly stayed home this weekend, we did manage to get out Saturday morning. We went to Cornerstone Sonoma for Chateau Sonoma’s 14th Annual French Flea Market that I mentioned in my last post.
It was like stepping into a brocante in France. It was magical and anyone who loves French things – or just pretty and unique items – would be elated to see all the beautiful treasures on display.
I decided, despite the cooler than normal morning, I would wear a new sleeveless piece from Stella Carakasi’s Spring 2017 Collection. But until the marine layer burned off and the sun came out, I kept my Cover Shot coat on. I think the fox approved 😉
Once the sun came out, I could show off my new Double Vision Vest, one of the new spring arrivals at Stella Carakasi. I love these new pieces that feature silk organza. They are sheer delights!
This vest is made with pure hemp and sheer silk organza. I love the on-seam pockets and the snap front closure. I can wear it closed or open. The side have slits so it can move with you even when it’s snapped. The front panels are sheer so you need to wear something underneath.
I styled my vest with girlfriend jeans (similar), a camisole, metallic leather cuff from Large Leather in Sonoma, and my new sandals from Söfft. I love these sandals and wear them all the time. They almost feel like sneakers, they are so comfortable. And the burnished gold color goes with just about everything!
I carried my new white Maddalena bag from Armadio, on heavy rotation now that spring is in full swing here. This Italian beauty is handcrafted in Vicenza, Italy and has hand-bent bamboo handles, interior pockets on both sides and an adjustable shoulder strap. My friends at Armadio are offering readers $50 off this bag, which also comes in light gray, navy, black and burgundy. Just use code ADRIENNE at checkout.
To show how the pure silk organza pieces from Stella Carakasi would work for a warm weather getaway, I bought along the dramatic and cool Indulge Jacket, which is part of the same Stella Carakasi collection.
I kept my jeans and the camisole on and switched into black sandals, the style of Söfft sandals – easily creating two outfits.
The Indulge Jacket is 100% pure silk organza with a two-way zipper closure, front pockets also with zippers, and an adjustable waist cord.
It’s a great jacket for spring and summer. It will keep me cool without having to expose lots of skin!

Disclosure: I was given the Cover Shot Coat, Double Vision Vest and Indulge Jacket – all by Stella Carakasi – to review, as well as the Maddalena bag from Armadio. All opinions expressed here are my own, as always.
