Hello and happy Monday!
I hope you had a lovely weekend. We celebrated Father’s Day at our house yesterday with a barbecue for my husband, his dad and his older brother. It was meant to be an outside party but quickly became an indoor event when the temps climbed over 100 degrees.
Which brings me to the subject of today’s post: summer pants.
When the temps are high, I sometimes reach for a lightweight dress or a pair of shorts. But more often than not, I will wear my favorite summer pants.
These white linen-blend pants have a drawstring waist, side and back pockets and they are priced right. At just $18, I felt great about stocking up and now have two pairs in white – one last season and one this season – a pair in taupe and a black pair.
The weather in Mendocino, a coast town, was perfect: warm and sunny with cool ocean breezes. I brought both pairs of my favorite summer pants in case one pair got dirty. On the day we arrived, I wore my pants with a black camisole and a black cropped sweater from Stella Carakasi.
I layered a couple of necklaces….
I wore my summer pants again on our last day in Mendocino with a floral shoulder-baring top, gold sandals, the same handbag and my favorite straw hat from Montecristi Panama Hats of Napa Valley.
I stayed cool and comfortable in both looks throughout the day.
Today, I’m packing my summer pants again for another Wine Country getaway, this time to Applewood Inn Restaurant & Spa in the Russian River area.
What summer piece in your closet do you reach for most often?
Disclosure: My Start To Finish Cropped Sweater from Stella Carakasi was given to me. And my stays at the above mentioned inns were in exchange for my reviews. All opinions expressed here are, as always, my own.
