On June 29th, 2010, I started this blog with a post about a book that I now barely remember reading. To say it’s hard to believe I’ve been blogging that long is an understatement to be sure! With seven years and over 1000 posts under my belt, I definitely feel like I have arrived at “veteran status” for a lifestyle blogger.
In past blog anniversaries, I have recounted all the wonderful things blogging brought into my life: many treasured friendships, an identity separate from that of wife and stepmother, a creative outlet, a way to promote businesses and brands I love, opportunities to experience new things and places and meet new people, a hobby, a business and a passion. All of those wonderful things keep me in this blogging world – consistently – after all these years.
I look forward to many more years of blogging. I wonder sometimes if – or perhaps when – blogs will become a thing of the past. Will I sit on the front porch with Bill years from now and reminisce about the good old days when I had The Rich Life blog? Or will blogging remain a part of our day-to-day lives for decades? I like the think the latter will be the case. I kinda dig this blogging thing and can’t imagine what I would do with without it.
My seventh anniversary just happens to be on the same day that my Ageless Style interview with Cindy Hattersley of Rough Luxe Lifestyle publishes. What a special coincidence and such a fun anniversary gift!
Ageless Style is a style series that Cindy and Elizabeth, “La Contessa” of The Vintage Contesssa publish every other month. They each interview someone they consider stylish at any age. This time Cindy put the spotlight on me and Elizabeth interviewed another blogger you may know. I’ll let Elizabeth’s interview be a surprise. You won’t want to miss her post either!
I am so touched and honored to be featured in Ageless Style this month, especially as I approach my 50th birthday and celebrate my blog anniversary. I do hope you will pay them both a visit:
Thank you, Cindy, for the interview! It’s been a pleasure interacting with you over the last several weeks and I love how your post and Elizabeth’s turned out.
