Though summer doesn’t technically begin until June 20th, most would agree that since Memorial Day has come and gone and warm temperaures are here to stay, summer is already upon us. This means it’s finally time to put away those coats. heavy sweaters and tall boots until fall and start wearing summer clothes!
My summer wardrobe has some new additions that include a couple of pieces from J. Jill’s beautiful and wearable summer collection. J. Jill sent me a colorful paisley dress and a striped sleeveless linen tunic.
The dress and the tunic are available in misses, petite, women’s and tall. I am over 6 feet tall and was elated to see J. Jill’s wide selection of tall sizes. Hooray!
The first thing I noticed about this dress is its gorgeous color palette of summery blues, purples, pinks and peach. I think the background color – a deep shade of blue – looks great on just about any skin tone.
Details I appreciate are the on-seam pockets and the blue piping around the neck and armhole openings.
Styling this dress was a cinch. It really needs very little help and actually looks better when you wear it simply. I kept jewelry to a minimum and only wore my diamond studs and Apple Watch Hermès.
I chose my blue Linea Paolo block-heel sandals, purchased last year (similar) and carried one of the newest Adora bag colors. This one is called Cipria and is a neutral shade with light peach tones. Carrying this bag pulled out some of the lighter colors in the dress’s pattern.
For both outfits, I wore my Tory Burch sunglasses. I bought these well over a year ago and didn’t wear them much in the beginning. Now they are my go-to. I am happy to see they continue to be in the Tory Burch collection!
Made of 100% rayon, this dress is light and airy but not see-through, thankfully. And it’s washable too, which I always appreciate.
Linen is summer’s favorite fabric. This 100% linen A-line tunic has a shirttail hemline in front with a straight hemline in back. The light blue shade with white stripes is easy to style with whites for a casual summer look.
I love the little pocket and the shell buttons. The fabric is surprisingly soft, considering it’s all linen. And it’s also machine washable.
This tunic can also be worn open which I did for this look. I added a white camisole and a geode necklace by Janet Harrer.
