When I was a senior in high school in 1985, paisley print was all the rage. I distinctly recall my best friend buying the absolute cutest pair of bright red and violet paisley print pants on a trip to San Francisco. I coveted those pants of hers for a long, long time.
That must be why, after thirty plus years later, I still remember those pants of hers and why I’m still loving paisley. I don’t think bright red and purple paisley pants would interest me now, but this darling knit dress with a retro paisley print, a new arrival from J. Jill, does!
This A-line dress is a “throw-on-and-go” frock, my favorite kind. It’s super soft and comfortable and I love the length – right at the knee.
It has a mock-neck, which will make transitioning this dress into fall a cinch. I could add some cute booties and a denim jacket for an early fall look and even wear tights and tall boots with it when the temps dip down.
I love the color scheme too: black, blue, white and red. The black background makes it easy to style with my favorite black accessories – strappy flat sandals, leather cuff and my Adora bag from Armadio. And my favorite hat works nicely with this dress too.
J. Jill also sent me this beautiful necklace to help promote an important cause: J. Jill’s Compassion Fund. J. Jill is raising money for women in need with their Love/Hope Necklace. 100% of proceeds will be going to selected community based organizations. J. Jill has raised $8 million for disadvantaged women since 2002 through their Compassion Fund.
This Love/Hope necklace is not only reversible – the burnished metal disc has LOVE on one side, HOPE on the other – but it has an adjustable black waxed-cotton cord. Wear it at 18″ or 36″, or anywhere in between.
There is also a heart-shaped Compassion Fund necklace and several scarves, also raising money for disadvantaged women.
Are you a longtime lover of paisley too?
Disclosure: J. Jill sent the Sleeveless Mock Neck Retro Paisley Dress and Compassion Fund necklace in exchange for my review. All opinions expressed here are my own, as always.
