Holiday Gift Ideas from Wine Country, Part 2!

Holiday Gift Ideas from Wine Country, Part 2!

Since most of us are still in the midst holiday shopping, I thought I’d add to my previous Holiday Gift Ideas from Wine Country post with several more of my favorite and fabulous wine country businesses that would love your support this season.

My Favorite Holiday Gift Ideas from Wine Country, Part 2!

Olive and Poppy

The best of Wine Country Chic can be found at Olive and Poppy. They carry a variety of accessories and gifts, all with a wine country flare. From darling zip top pouches to beautiful bangles made from reclaimed oak wine barrel wood and lucite, their designs are quintessential wine country! In fact, many of their pieces use materials locally sourced right here in the North Bay.

Figone’s Olive Oil Company

I am very picky about what kind of olive oil I will buy, eat and cook with. I always keep a bottle of high quality local olive oil on hand to dress salads, drizzle over vegetables and dip crusty bread into. You just can’t beat the flavor and smell of a good olive oil, not to mention the many health benefits.

The owners of Figone’s Olive Oil Company are growers and producers of all of their olive oils (they have lots of different oils to choose from) and balsamic vinegars. Their olive oils are milled, blended, and bottled on-site at Figone’s Olive Oil Mill in Sonoma, California.

Along with olive oils and vinegars, this family owned business also carries a line of body care products made with their oil.

Shop online or visit their darling shop located right across from the Sonoma Plaza.

Kollar Chocolates

European-style chocolates with new world flavors and whimsical, artistic designs are waiting for you at Kollar Chocolates in Napa Valley’s Yountville, inside V Marketplace.

Visitors can watch Artisan Chocolatier Chris Kollar produce his small batch, handmade chocolate through a glass show kitchen. On the other side of the glass, the Kollar Chocolates team offers pre-packaged and to-order chocolates, gelato, and espresso.

I love the beautiful designs and think the sushi chocolates would make such a fun and delectable gift for the chocolate lover who has everything.

Visit their shop in person, if you can, or order their handcrafted treats online. Also, see their mention in a recent holiday article for USA Today!

And there is this from Kollar Chocolates!

“This season, Kollar Chocolates is inviting children to join him in a chocolate ornament decorating class featuring his holiday kit. Each kit contains three chocolate ornaments, a paintbrush and a kit of six different colored cocoa butters. It’s the perfect homemade, holiday gift that everyone with a sweet tooth can enjoy. Kollar’s Ornament Chocolate Workshop will occur each Saturday from 9:00 – 10:30 am until December 23rd! To participate, each ticket is $10 per child which includes a chocolate ornament, color palette and brush. Hot chocolate and coffee will also be available for purchase! Tickets can be purchased via the following EventBrite link.”

Bird And The Bottle

Whether you live locally, planning a visit wine country or know someone who is, consider a gift certificate to Bird And The Bottle or one of Mark and Terri Stark’s other restaurants in Sonoma County. One of those restaurants is a longtime favorite restaurant of mine –  Willi’s Wine Bar – which was destroyed in the Tubbs Fire this October. The Starks are planning on rebuilding but of course it will take some time.

I wrote about Bird And The Bottle earlier this fall. They have such a lovely atmosphere and the menu is both eclectic and delicious – every drink and every dish, a conversation starter.

Currently, Mark and Terri Stark are nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Restaurateurs! You can cast your vote today here!
