Christmas will be here in just three days. That sure happened fast! Have those of you who celebrate Christmas finished all your holiday to dos?
Yesterday afternoon, I wrapped my last gift of the season. Now all I need to do it make a few dishes for a holiday party and for Christmas morning.
This holiday season is so much less nerve-wracking than last year’s. This time a year ago, Bill had just returned home after being at the Thomas fire for 16 days. I remember feeling so anxious last December, worrying about Bill’s safety, about friends and family whom had lost homes in our wine country fires, and dreading Tori’s upcoming move to Oregon, which made us official empty nesters.
What a special holiday gift this year not having to worry about Bill being on fires now that he is retired. Knowing that Tori is happy and adjusting so well to her new life in Oregon is also a joy and relief for her dad and me, although we miss her terribly everyday. Thankfully, she is home for the holidays so we get to spend lots of time together.
Ryan and his wife, Hayley are off on their honeymoon to Belize and Mexico for a few weeks. How fun! Thankfully we were able to go to the Central Coast to visit them for a few days recently and have an early Christmas with them.
Kayla and her husband, Forest are working hard in their careers and have bounced back after losing their rented home and its contents last year to the fires.
So all is merry and bright this season!
I’m taking a short break from my weekly Seven for Saturday posts this week but they’ll resume after the holidays. I’ll also have more posts about our Dream Trip.
Until then…Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and yours! 🎄 Adrienne
