It’s hard to believe that another fantastic year is quickly coming to a close. Jill of Everything Just So and I thought it would be fun to take a look back at 2014’s How I Wear My submissions and pick our personal favorites for a special edition How I Wear My: Best of 2014.
Jill and I established some ground rules before we began the selection:
~ We would not choose each other.
~ We would not tell each other who we selected.
~ We would only pick participants from our own blogs.
There are so many stylish looks and beautiful photos, it was difficult to pick just one for each month, but we did.
Please enjoy this calendar of great style!
Dale of Savvy Spice is stunning in this gray ombre coat. I love how striking this look is while being so simple at the same time. The high bun, the big glasses, the bottle of pink bubbly and the industrial background make this How I Wear My:Coat submission my favorite.
If I remember correctly, this was the first How I Wear My submission for Cynthia of My Rose Colored Shades. I remember because I was wowed by her accessories in electrifying shades of hot pink. Cynthia made a tailored and classic look fun and modern with her pink additions.
I have always loved cowboy boots, especially when they are colorful and sassy like Trina’s of Tea Time With Trina. She won me over with this boot outfit that includes turquoise, off-white, teal, cognac and of course, blue jeans!
Unique textures, vibrant colors and fun patterns come together for this eye-catching skirt look on Suzanne from Suzanne Carillo. What’s not to love about an outfit that includes hearts, flowers and ruffles?
Edgy, playful femininity is how I describe this look Sheree from It’s Not That Deep. Sheree proves that sneakers can be worn with more than just jeans and gym clothes.
Alice from Happiness at Mid-Life gives off a retro vibe with a pastel pink midi skirt and adds plenty of flirty and modern style with a black lace and leopard top.
Catherine of Not Dressed as Lamb gets my vote for best translation of a theme. I love the setting in this photo, the matching shoes and belt – which add color to her off-white outfit with black accents – and that busy and successful Catherine is just so relaxed!
Cool, modern and sophisticated, Nicole from High Latitude Style looks stunning in this optic white dress, accessorized with gorgeous, rich cognac colors and gold.
Linda of Labour of Life makes me yearn for summer in this vibrant look featuring sandals. I love the hat, the silver jewelry and the various shades of red. And the camera angle is ideal for the theme!
Blue is the favorite color of Nora’s, who owns the online shop and blog, Jacket Society. Nora wears several shades of blue, accented with cognac and copper. She layers gorgeous statement necklaces with a patterned kimono style jacket, to give this stylish look a boho vibe.
Lovely Susan of High Heels in the Wilderness shows us that leather pants don’t always have to be tough and edgy. A soft, gray sweater and simple black cuff make this outfit ideal for a casual everyday look or a night out on the town.
Malia of Style by Malia steals the sweater show in her navy sequin maxi skirt and sweater with feathered epaulets. This outfit and Malia’s pose say “Watch out, world. Here I come!” This look would be perfect for New Year’s Eve.
Thank you to all the participants who have joined us this year. Jill and I continued to be inspired by your fabulous style and enjoy seeing your take on our themes. We look forward to seeing what you’ll send in next year!
Be sure to stop by Jill’s blog to see who she chose as her Best of 2014!
Since we are on the subject, I want to remind everyone that the first How I Wear My of 2015 is right around the corner! The theme is Winter White and the deadline for submission is January 5th. Send in a photo of you in your winter white (600 pix wide or greater for best resolution, please!) and a brief description of your look to firstname.lastname@example.org.
